CASA COMMITTEE MEETING 19 JUNE 2023

Committee members present
Richard Moon (chair and secretary)
Joan Pickett
Di Jones
Lynda Holloran
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss arrangements for the exhibition on 8-9 July 2023 at the Castor Festival. It was agreed to follow much the same approach as last year, with exhibits on tables and stands, rather than on screens as in past years. We will need members to contribute as many easels, stands and tables as we can get.

The Cedar Centre will be available for setup from 10.30am on Friday 7 July. Exhibitors can drop off works between then and 5pm. If Richard is free (he may be busy with work) he will do a car run to pick up works from anyone who can’t deliver. The sessions will be Saturday 12.00 noon-ish to 5.00 (although Joan will be there in the morning), Sunday 11.00 – 3.30 (and the sign will need to go outside the Cedar Centre by 10.00 to be seen by churchgoers). We will need people to steward the sessions with Joan.
Joan has sticky notes, exhibit sheets, record sheets etc, and Richard may still have some from last year. Joan has the voting box for best in show.

Following Don Henderson donating some art equipment, it was agreed we would do a sale of any spare equipment at the exhibition. In addition our recent demonstrator Charles Bezzina has said he would send us the finished picture from the recent workshop, so we will frame that and auction it.

In any other business, the recent demos have started up and we had the workshop from Amanda Jackson. Attendances are down compared to 2019, but more attended the most recent one so it may be a case of people getting back into the habit of going after such a long break.

We are making very slow progress with HSBC over getting the bank transferred to Carole Moon after Peter Tomkin’s death, but we have now heard they have changed the account signatories.
